Whoever said that a sequel never lives up to the original hasn’t hit the Ping Rapture V2 driver. I have been averaging drives between 250-275, hit all 4 fairways that I used it off the tee tonight and I bet I was at least 300 or better. This addition, part of Ping’s 2009 lineup, to the Ping line of clubs comes on the heels of the company’s tremendously successful introduction in Fall 2007 of the G10 and Rapture lines. Nice trajectory on takeoff also. I recommend if you are a Ping fan like me, you must have this one in your bag. While the ping rapture v2 driver is comfortable with the ability to help most players keep the ball in the fairway, it has the tendency of producing high, lofty shots, resulting in loss of distance. What’s more, Ping Rapture V2 irons are also highly recommended. I’ve now played 3 rounds with the Rapture V2 10.5 driver w/Dianama Blue shaft. I hit the longest drive of my life today, leaving me a 50 yard second shot on a 375 yard par 4.
I went to a local golf store to try many different clubs. After hitting many balls with clubs from all the major manufacturers I just kept coming back to this Ping driver.
